A Malaysian Dish Is On World’s 50 Best Foods!

CNN Travel made a list of the World’s 50 Best Foods and a Malaysian dish is on it! Some of the other dishes on the list can arguably be considered Malaysian too!

There are more than 15 Asian dishes on that list, many which we are lucky to also have here in Malaysia.

1. Asam Laksa

Ah Cheng Laksa serves up quite a good bowl of asam laksa. Director Edmund Goh Chun Hiang of Ah Cheng Laksa said that the recipe for the asam laksa¬†was handed down by his grandmother. Food is the best when it’s made with love! Of course, you can also get a good bowl of asam laksa in Penang!

2. Chicken Rice

The dish was claimed by Singapore. However, you and I know we are able to get a pretty good plate of chicken rice in Malaysia too. Malacca also has its own very unique chicken rice balls. Depending on your preference, there are numerous places for you to get chicken rice, either with roasted chicken or the kampung white chicken.

3. Rendang

A beloved companion of rice, rendang‘s aromatic and rich flavour is the stuff foodie dreams are made of. But beware, it is such a fulfilling meal, it could put you to sleep. There are just too many places for us to recommend, and we’re always on the lookout for more. Do send us your recommendations!

4. Chilli Crab

Everyone knows that we can get amazing chilli crab here in Malaysia too! Fatty Crab is the place to try if you’re in Petaling Jaya. Even during weeknights, you’ll see a line forming right after 6pm.
