Sometimes saving the world doesn’t take all that much.
The Centre for Environment, Technology and Development
Malaysia (CETDEM) and World Wide Fund for Nature
(WWF) Malaysia share small steps that can make a big
impact. Remember, every little bit counts so if you’re not
already doing these things, do start now!
Anthony Tan Kee Huat, Executive Director, CETDEM :
• Reduce usage of fossil fuel. Use public transport
whenever travelling alone.
• Reduce usage of plastic bags. Bring along plastic
containers and reusable shopping bags, even to places
like the pasar malam.
• Reduce usage of electricity. Set fans to slower speed
and air-conditioners to higher temperature.
WWF Malaysia :
• Turn off equipment like televisions, computers and
stereos when you’re not using them. That little red
standby light means they’re still using power.
• Save water. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
• Collect rainwater to water your flowers and plant local
species of trees.
