Revenge Of The LBD
Ubiquitous as it may
be, wearing the little black dress requires more
than a measure of ingenuity, says JACQUELINE
PEREIRA.
Like a tempestuous lover, the
little black dress is the most demanding item
in fashion. In those crippling I-have-nothing-to-wear
moments, this innocuous yet insidious garment
is relied on as a steadfast saviour.
Contrary to popular belief though, donning a
black dress is definitely not an escape route
from a fashion crisis. Not if a woman wants
to wear a little black dress that’ll make a
statement, turn heads and be faultless fodder
for her fabulous personality. And definitely
not for a woman who wants to wear a dress that’ll
speak volumes without uttering a single word.
The right ‘black dress look’ depends
on the wearer’s ingenuity to personalise the
outfit as very much her own – to express her
individuality in full brash colour. There can
be no half measures when it comes to wearing
this pervasive little black dress.
