A DATE WITH DEBENHAMS
In KL to launch his latest line, Butterfly for Debenhams, was UK’s top designer Matthew Williamson. He is also the creative designer for Emilio Pucci since 2005. Famous for his kaleidoscopic designs that have dressed celebrities like Halle Berry, Sienna Miller and Eva Longoria, this down-to-earth designer shares his thoughts on his latest collection and gives some style advice during a recent chat with Her World.

Which would you say are the top three must-haves from your Butterfly collection?
“I tend to gravitate towards the printed pieces so I would say my favourite piece is definitely the printed butterfly shift dress. The white blouse with embellished neckline and the striped dress with printed motif are great too.”

Who do you consider as style icons of today?
“Jade Jagger and Sienna Miller, who are more like close friends to me, and my mum. I remember how I used to watch her get ready for work.”

Favourite people you’ve worked with...
“Anja Rubik (Polish supermodel), Daria Werbowy (Canadian model) and Sienna Miller.”

If you had to give three style tips to women, what would they be?
“Trust your instincts, never wear more than three colours unless it’s a print and it’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed.”
