What is the price of beauty if you’re aiming for brighter-looking skin? Tony Vargas of Elizabeth Arden enlightens.
Apparently, the Koreans apply 12 steps to their beauty routine as opposed to our basic three or four. But not many of us have the time for that, what with the need to beat the traffic on our way to work! I had the pleasure of meeting with the Vice-President of Global Research and Development of skincare giant Elizabeth Arden, Tony Vargas during the launch of the new White Glove Extreme on the island of Bintan, Indonesia. “When you don’t have much time, the most important thing to remember is to cleanse, treat and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise,” says Tony who is responsible for the improved formula of Elizabeth Arden’s current whitening range, White Glove. Tony shares with us his insights on turning ‘alright’ skin into ‘brighter and better’.
You and your team went on a global search for ingredients to improve your whitening formula. From your research, would you say natural products are better than synthetics? People seem to think that ‘natural’ is better but there are a lot of natural ingredients out there that are not safe. You need to have both natural and synthetic ingredients. White Glove Extreme contains a precious fruit extract called Emblica C from the Indian Gooseberry. It also contains Vitamin C as well as the intense Marine Mineral Extract which is very rare. What this potent combination does for your skin is to give it super defense mechanism, make it firmer, smoother, brighter and more radiant.
There are 10 products in White Glove Extreme, from cleansers to foundation. Will skipping steps affect the goal towards better-looking skin?
Generally, you use what your skin needs. From our tests on Asian skin, we found that each product in this range has been engineered to enhance the other. So when used as a system, the results are astonishing.
If you have multiple skincare concerns, can you use two serums, say one for whitening and the other for firming?
You can but not together. You have to use one in the day time and the other one at night. If you have some residue of serum on your hands from using it on your face, finish it off by using it on the back of your hands! Nothing should go to waste.
